At Flogas, our customers are at the heart of everything we do, which is why ensuring energy security is our top priority. Through significant investments in key facilities like the Avonmouth and Teesside terminals, we’ve built a resilient supply chain that guarantees reliable LPG delivery across the UK. These sites not only reinforce our existing infrastructure but also future-proof the energy supply for off-grid homes, businesses, and industries, ensuring peace of mind for our customers year-round.    **Avonmouth: Setting a New Standard for LPG Storage**  Avonmouth currently has a capacity of 17,000 tonnes, but we’re working on doubling this to 34,000 tonnes, making it the largest above-ground LPG storage facility in the UK. This upgrade is a major development for Flogas, significantly enhancing our ability to meet the needs of off-grid homes and businesses, particularly during the high-demand winter months. Located in the South West, Avonmouth strengthens our nationwide distribution network, ensuring faster, more reliable deliveries across the country. It’s part of our ongoing commitment to investing in infrastructure that supports energy security and customer satisfaction.    **Teesside: From Production to Distribution**  Teesside plays an equally critical role, serving as both an LPG production hub and a key storage and distribution facility. Located on the River Tees, it processes natural gas from North Sea reserves at the Teesside Gas Processing Plant (TGPP) into LPG. Previously, LPG extracted from the North Sea was exported to global markets, but thanks to a collaboration between Flogas, NSMP, and Exolum, it is now redirected inland to support the UK’s own supply, significantly enhancing energy security.  At TGPP, LPG is fractionated and then stored in five 125-tonne storage bullets owned by Exolum. The terminal’s advanced distribution network enables Flogas to deliver LPG across Northern England, Scotland, and Wales, reaching even the most remote locations. Additionally, the Teesside facility is future-ready, with the capacity to incorporate renewable energy solutions such as blending bio-propane and renewable dimethyl ether (RDME) into LPG. This positions Flogas to play a vital role in the UK’s transition toward achieving Net Zero targets.    **A Resilient, Future-Proof Network**  The synergy between Avonmouth and Teesside forms the backbone of Flogas’s secure energy network. With Teesside now fully operational, surplus LPG from the North can be transferred to Avonmouth, ensuring additional reserves for winter demand. This dual-site strategy guarantees resilience against external disruptions and reinforces our promise of reliability to off-grid communities.  Gorka Penalva of Exolum, a key partner in the Teesside project, highlighted the collaborative effort, stating, “We’ve worked closely with Flogas to enhance the UK’s energy infrastructure, and we’re proud to contribute to such an impactful venture that benefits off-grid homes and businesses.”    For more information about our commitment to energy security and how we’re driving innovation in LPG supply, visit our [blog](https://blog.flogas.co.uk/news).  ## Related articles [All articles](https://blog.flogas.co.uk/news) ### [28/08/2019 Fuel up with Flogas at IMHX 2019 | Flogas Read more \>](https://blog.flogas.co.uk/news/imhx-2019) ### [23/02/2021 Boiler Efficiency Check | Flogas Read more \>](https://blog.flogas.co.uk/news/boiler-efficiency) [All articles](https://blog.flogas.co.uk/news) Latest News 14.09.2026 [B&Q and Flogas introduce BioLPG across propane gas bottle range](https://blog.flogas.co.uk/news/bq-and-flogas-introduce-biolpg-across-propane-gas-bottle-range) 03.08.2026 [Choosing the right LPG supplier for your home](https://blog.flogas.co.uk/news/choosing-the-right-lpg-supplier-for-your-home) 30.07.2026 [LPG: above ground, underground, or gas bottles – which is right for your home?](https://blog.flogas.co.uk/news/lpg-above-ground-underground-or-gas-bottles) 16.07.2026 [Flogas Britain achieves Silver accreditation from Inclusive Employers](https://blog.flogas.co.uk/news/flogas-britain-achieves-silver-accreditation-from-inclusive-employers) 30.06.2026 [DCC Energy Appoints Rogerio Lopes as Managing Director](https://blog.flogas.co.uk/news/dcc-new-managing-director) - [Home Energy](https://www.flogas.co.uk/home) - [Business Energy](https://www.flogas.co.uk/business) - [Gas Bottles](https://www.flogas.co.uk/gas-bottles) - [Bulk LPG Tanks](https://www.flogas.co.uk/bulk-lpg) - [Shop](https://www.flogas.co.uk/shop) - [Sustainability](https://www.flogas.co.uk/sustainability) - [Help & Advice](https://www.flogas.co.uk/help-and-advice) Connect with us Information - [About Flogas](https://www.flogas.co.uk/about-flogas) - [Customer Charter](https://www.flogas.co.uk/customer-charter) - [Careers](https://www.flogas.co.uk/careers) - [Gender Pay Gap 2022](https://assets.flogas.co.uk/uploads/Gender-Pay-Gap-2022.pdf) - [Legals](https://www.flogas.co.uk/legals) - [LPG Prices](https://www.flogas.co.uk/lpg-prices) - [Safety Data Sheets](https://www.flogas.co.uk/product-safety-data-sheets) - [Modern Slavery Act 2015](https://www.flogas.co.uk/modern-slavery-act-2015) - [Privacy and Cookie Policies](https://www.flogas.co.uk/privacy-policy) - [Safety F1rst](https://www.flogas.co.uk/safety) - [Sitemap](https://www.flogas.co.uk/sitemap) - [Suppliers & Contractors](https://www.flogas.co.uk/supplier-audit) © Flogas 2026.
