The move will give customers across Buckinghamshire access to reliable, cost-effective gas supply direct from Flogas – including bottled propane and butane, as well as industrial gases and autogas for vehicles. The acquisition will also see the 118-year-old Jones & Cocks hardware store stay open to the public. First established in 1899, Jones & Cocks provides local homes and businesses with a range of bottled gases for heating, cooking, leisure and industrial use. It also operates Aylesbury’s only LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) autogas filling station, and supplies gas cylinders for fork lift trucks. Flogas’ team of energy experts has now taken over management of the business, welcoming six existing Jones & Cocks staff members, to ensure customers can continue to rely on top-quality gas supply and competitive prices. Graham Collins, manager at Jones & Cocks, says: “The Jones & Cocks shop has been serving customers in Aylesbury for more than 100 years, and we’re very proud of our reputation locally. The business has changed a lot over the years, and our services now span retail, gas supply and even specialist b2b sourcing – but the one constant is that our customers are always our number one priority. With its local expertise and national backing, we know that Flogas shares these values, and we’re all very pleased to be a part of the new Flogas Aylesbury team.” Flogas Britain is one of the country’s leading suppliers of LPG, and also provides LNG (liquefied natural gas) and mains gas to businesses nationwide. As part of the takeover of Jones & Cocks, it will service existing and new customers across the Aylesbury Vale and wider Buckinghamshire areas. Flogas has more than 30 years’ experience providing reliable off-grid energy to homes and businesses across the country – and with more UK depots than any other supplier, offers fast, free delivery. Lee Gannon, Flogas managing director, says: “Jones & Cocks has established itself as a real Aylesbury institution over the last 118 years, and on behalf of everyone here at Flogas I’d like to welcome the team to the family. We’re very proud to be taking over operations at such a longstanding Buckinghamshire company, and look forward to serving many more customers in the area as the business takes on the Flogas brand. “Continuing to provide the best possible service to homes and businesses nationally is at the heart of our growth plans this year, and this latest move is no exception. It’s the second of two acquisitions for Flogas since the start of 2017, and will serve to increase our presence beyond our existing network of depots across the country. It’s also the first time we’ve been able to count a hardware store as part of our offering – giving local consumers direct access to our experts in energy.” As well as Jones & Cocks, Flogas has also recently completed an acquisition of Cornwall-based bottled gas supplier J&P Hamling.
